Emptiness — lack — a recess or groove — spiritual emptiness — the antithesis of matter — the retraction of the present — a sense of need— a lack of balance — the possibility of a different position — a space for creation — an opening
The environment is filled with the habit of living in a constant, gaping space and with advertising calls to experience this absence as an opportunity. But what if we paused everything and allowed the emptiness to be heard? The exhibition project aims to explore the phenomenon of negative space without seeking to fill it. Absence is not seen as a cavity for something to be exploited. It is our everyday life—living amidst non-space, a bygone era. All streams of information point to the presence of a recess and a way to fill it, but never provide the opportunity to truly do so. It is common to sense the constant presence of absence.
